Born into a military family, Matt spent the first few years of his life moving up and down the East Coast, before heading to college in South Carolina where he started making music. Matt’s music finds a home between Modern Country, Rock, and Country-Pop. Utilizing acoustic and electric guitars in almost all of his songs, Matt puts a strong emphasis on storytelling. An element of songwriting that was inspired by artists such as Riley Green, Cody Johnson, and Morgan Wallen. Another element of Matt’s approach to songwriting is to make each song unique, stating “I don’t want each one to sound the same. There are a ton of instruments and drum sounds to use, so I use ‘em.” He credits his passion for country music to his military upbringing and mother’s slow and simple way of living, a product of Mobile, Alabama. Matt, who is 24 years old, is set to release a new song every month for the remainder of 2023, starting in May with “The Richest Man I Knew” that will be released on the 26th of May, 2023.
