Gretchen Wilson Makes Her Return at the Carolina Country Music Fest

Her song ‘I’m Here for the Party’ could be the Carolina Country Music Fest anthem. Gretchen Wilson. Our original ‘Redneck Woman’. She’s come off a eight-year break and her first big debut performance will be at Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, SC. To say we can’t wait is an understatement. We recently spoke to John Rich from Big and Rich about Gretchen Wilson and asked him for the story firsthand on how he met Gretchen Wilson. John said he met Gretchen working in a bar in Nashville and she had a great voice. An opportunity came up not much longer later and he called Gretchen to see if she wanted to work together. John was so funny, he said, “We were writing songs and Gretchen said, ‘I’m not fancy. I just am what I am.’ and John said, ‘What is that?’ and her reply is now famous ‘I’m a Redneck Woman.’ And you can guess, that’s where the number one hit song ‘Redneck Woman’ game from! You can bet it’s going to be one hell of a party with Gretchen Wilson and Big and Rich on the scene down in Myrtle Beach with 30+ of country’s hottest music artists. Gretchen Wilson took a break from being on tour to be with her daughter, Grace who is now 16. Family means everything to her and growing up she didn’t have the best situation – being with her daughter while she was growing up and being there for her was number one. We’re so glad she’s back and we’re her first stop! With over 8 million albums sold, Gretchen Wilson, is going to rock the Carolinas! Get ready to party, CCMFer’s!
