Meet Myrtle the CCMF Kitten

Sometimes the biggest CCMF moments happen off the stage.

During the fest, our team found a tiny stray kitten hiding underneath the Coors Banquet Main Stage. Scared, alone, and with a broken paw, this little baby girl somehow found her way into the middle of all the music, lights, and more than 35,000 people.

And just like country music always does — people showed up with love.

Staff members took turns holding her, comforting her, and making sure she was safe until the amazing team at the Grand Strand Humane Society arrived to help rescue her. We decided to name her “Myrtle,” because there may be no better place for a story like this to happen than right here in Myrtle Beach.

From backstage cuddles to a full rescue mission, Myrtle reminded all of us that even in the middle of one of the biggest weekends of the year, there’s always time to stop and care for something small.

Thank you to the Grand Strand Humane Society for stepping in and helping this sweet girl get the care she needs.

If you’d like to help animals like Myrtle get the care they need, please consider supporting the incredible work of Grand Strand Humane Society. Their team steps in every day to rescue, protect and care for animals across our community — and Myrtle is just one example of the lives they help change. Donations, volunteers, and adoptions all make a difference.
