Kolby Oakley

Kolby Oakley

Kolby Oakley might only be 26 years old, but has the voice and charisma of a seasoned stage vet. Oakley, a talented musician and vocalist, astonishes crowds with his live shows.

Growing up in a musical household, it was only natural for Oakley to want to command a stage of his own. Both his mother and father were talented musicians, with his mother playing bass guitar and his father singing in modern rock and blues bands. Oakley’s Uncle Craig was also a well known jazz drummer, who played with artists such as The Beach Boys and Bob Hope.

It felt right for Oakley to join in on the music at the young age of 8 by playing drums for his parents modern rock band, Interstate. Kolby later played drums for other bands in various genres of music, while he taught himself to play guitar.

Oakley discovered songwriting after the passing of his Great Grandmother in 2007, which sparked a new creative passion leading him to begin performing acoustic shows at 14 years old. Later on he joined a local country band, Honeystruck and also played in his fathers blues band, Smokehouse Blues.

After a few years, Oakley decided to pursue his own project, The Kolby Oakley Band, and was performing his own original songs as well as as country covers. Oakley began to see a positive response to his original music, leading him to release his first two singles. Displaying his musical talent, Oakley played multiple instruments on those tracks.

In January 2016, Oakley packed his guitar and moved from upstate New York to Nashville, TN to begin the next chapter of his career. Since moving to Nashville, Oakley has released multiple songs including his most recent to date, “Moonshine Stand”, “Front Row Woman” and “NY On My Mind”. Oakley states that, “It took me some time to find who I am as an artist and where my place is in music as a whole. My latest music includes all my influences from Country, Rock and Blues, which delivers the Outlaw Country/Rock sound you hear on my latest work. ”

Oakley has garnered a good response from the country music community leading him to open for various country music acts such as Zac Brown Band, Florida Georgia Line, Montgomery Gentry, Easton Corbin, Dylan Scott, Eric Pasley, Keith Urban and Parmalee.
