Texas born singer-songwriter Nate Van Winkle blends modern country with warm acoustic sounds and the kind of heart and soul lyrics you’re used to hearing from artists like Zach Bryan. His love of music and songwriting started at the age of 13 when he became fascinated with the acoustic guitar and taught himself to play the instrument using an old song book filled with the chord charts of 1950’s oldies. Childhood family reunions were always an opportunity to perform, as it was tradition for everyone to gather to play bluegrass and honky-tonk tunes.
Although his love of country music runs deep, it wasn’t his initial musical pursuit, and in 2015 he published his first folk album titled “Catching Fireflies.” After spending several years playing weekly shows in and around San Antonio, TX, he decided to take some time away from the stage and moved to North Carolina. However, his country roots did not stop calling, and in 2024 he decided to pursue writing and performing country music.
Calling upon inspirations like Tucker Beathard and Morgan Wallen, his desire is not only to entertain, but to bring deep rooted lyrics to the world of modern country music.
