Rut Spence

Rut Spence is a country rock singer-songwriter from Lexington, South Carolina, whose music is deeply rooted in family, faith, and the Carolina soil that raised him. Growing up on a horse farm in Gilbert, South Carolina, Rut’s cowboy spirit was shaped early by long days outdoors—hunting, fishing, and playing sports alongside his three brothers and his dad. Life on the farm wasn’t just a backdrop; it built the grit and authenticity that now define his sound.

While Rut loved the outdoors, his creative side was nurtured at home by his mom and Nana, who introduced him to poetry at a young age. That foundation sparked his passion for songwriting. His mother, Eliza—who recorded several EPs in the Beach, Rhythm & Blues genre—often brought Rut into the studio with her, where he first felt the undeniable pull toward a life in music.

Through profound personal loss, including the passing of both of his grandfathers and the tragic suicides of his two uncles, songwriting became more than a passion—it became healing. Rut began writing music at just 14 years old and has been relentlessly chasing his dream ever since.

His debut single, “His Truck,” was recorded at OmniSound Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and released in 2021, marking the beginning of his professional recording career. Since then, Rut has continued to release a string of singles that showcase his dynamic country rock sound—songs that speak to love, heartbreak, resilience, and the kind of nights that get a little rowdy. In 2025, he officially put himself on the map with the release of his hit “Country Boy Certified,” a high-energy anthem that gained significant traction and solidified his presence as a rising force in country rock.

With raw storytelling, southern soul, and a sound that blends tradition with edge, Rut Spence is carving out his own lane in country rock—one honest song at a time.
