Cam writes country music to tell the truth, especially truths that help women understand
themselves. With a degree in psychology that’s paired with her natural wit and indelible passion,
Cam has built a platform of transparent and culturally relevant conversations. Her outspokenness
about the gender disparity in country music has presented her with opportunities to cultivate
change and direct meaningful discussions on industry panels, task forces and on country music
boards.
The proof of Cam’s eccentric candor is supported in her latest release – the brazen, bold song,
“Diane,” which is the lead single off her forthcoming sophomore release. Never one to shy around
from the hard conversations and topics, the GRAMMY®-nominated artist brings to focus the
realities of cheating in the driving, tempo-rich song, offering a redemptive opportunity that unites
women rather than pit them against each other. And there’s no question about it – people are
listening. In just a few short months, “Diane” has ignited quite the wildfire, making a multi-week
residency on Spotify’s Viral 50 USA Chart, breaking into the Top 15 on the iTunes US Country
Charts and peaking at #1 on the iTunes UK Country Charts. In addition to performing the song
on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Good Morning America and American Idol, “Diane” was
recently expedited on BBC Radio 2’s A-List in the UK and has topped multiple best-of lists
including Best Songs (all-genre) of 2017 by NPR, #3 on the 25 Best Country Songs of 2017
by Rolling Stone Country and #2 on the Top 10 Country Songs of 2018 by Taste Of Country.
Along with working on her upcoming album, Cam co-wrote the song, “Palace” off Sam Smith’s latest
album, The Thrill Of It All. The song, which was co-written with Smith and Tyler Johnson, has Cam
contributing background vocals and electric guitar to the track, and was featured in the 2017
Holiday commercial for Apple. This Spring, Cam joined Smith on stage for “Palace” during all four
nights of his sold-out shows at London’s O2 Arena. Smith is among the impressive list of music
superstars that Cam has shared the stage with in the last couple years. Others include Harry Styles
at Nashville’s famed Ryman Auditorium, Tim McGraw & Faith Hill on their blockbuster Soul2Soul
Tour and George Strait during his 2017 residency tour at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The momentum continues to build since the release of Cam’s debut album Untamed. The breakout
record debuted at #2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with the year’s best first-week album
sales by a debut country artist. Untamed included Cam’s first Platinum record and #1 country single,
“Burning House.” The massive success of “Burning House” garnered Cam multiple GRAMMY®,
ACM, CMA, CMT and American Music Awards nominations. To date, “Burning House” is still the
most-downloaded song by a female country artist since 2015. Produced by GRAMMY-winning
Producer of the Year Jeff Bhasker (Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars) and multiple-GRAMMY
nominee Tyler Johnson (Harry Styles, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran), Untamed was met with widespread
critical acclaim from The New York Times to Entertainment Weekly, PEOPLE and Associated
Press. Since its release, Cam – who co-wrote each of her 11 debut album tracks – has appeared on
national TV programs including Today, CBS This Morning, The Voice, The Tonight Show, Jimmy
Kimmel Live!, The Talk, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, LIVE with Kelly, The Grammys, CMA Awards,
ACM Awards, The 10th ACM Honors CBS special with Alicia Keys and CMT Crossroads with Smokey
Robinson and many others.
